African Mobilities

Spatial justice is central to the work of architect, curator, and researcher Mpho Matsipa. In conversation with architect Emanuel Admassu, she discusses counter-cartographies and her concept of a “mobile Africa.” The accompanying drawing series is from AD–WO’s project Two Markets, which examines the urban marketplaces of Kariakoo in Dar es Salaam and Merkato in Addis Ababa, opening new perspectives on African urbanisms.
