Perspectives on the financialization of architecture: The projects shown in this issue represent only a tiny fraction of the architectural production in Vienna. In this city as well, the commodification of housing is progressing. Pictured in the left-hand background are three investment properties of the real estate developer SIGNA, marking its large-scale entry into the housing construction sector. The Parkapartments am Belvedere were designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the Bel & Main Residences by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects (DMAA), and the BelView Apartments by Coop Himmelb(l)au. After completion, the latter was sold to an international investment fund (Universal Investment Luxembourg, BVK Europa). / © Stefan Müller
