Ein internationales Architektur-Projekt der Hochschule Trier und der University of East London
Zum 200. Geburtstag von Karl Marx untersuchen die Architekten Prof. Robert Thum (Campus für Gestaltung/Hochschule Trier) und Dr. Harald Trapp (University of East London) die Relevanz marxistischer Theorien für die Analyse der heutigen Architektur.
Die Ausstellung capital architecture zeigt am Beispiel von London die Aktualität dieser Thematik. Video-Interviews mit internationalreno mm ierten Architekten und Soziologen (Massimo De Angelis, Mario Carpo, Alois Hahn, Anna Minton, Patrik Schumacher und Douglas Spencer), die Fotoserie „Working Men’s Club“ des Londoner Fotografen Immo Klink und die Rauminstallation „Akkumulator“ (Harald Trapp, Robert Thum) kommentieren die Produktion von Raum im neoliberalen Kapitalismus.

capital architecture is a research project by Robert Thum (Hochschule Trier) and Harald Trapp (University of East London) on the connections between Karl Marx and architecture including leading figures from the areas of architecture, political theory, economics, sociology and art.
Using London as a starting point, capital architecture, in the European Academy of Art Trier investigates the relevance of Marx for the analysis of architecture today. Video-interviews with experts (Massimo de Angelis, Mario Carpo, Alois hahn, Anna Minton, Patrik Schumacher, Douglas Spencer), a series of photographies on „working men´s clubs“ (Immo Klink) and the spatial installation „Akkumulator“ (Harald Trapp, Robert Thum) comment on the production of space in neoliberal capitalism.
